Grisette is a style originating from the Hainaut Province of Wallonia, the French-speaking region of Belgium. Grisette is often referred to as a "table Saison", primarily due to its regional association with Saison and being lower in alcohol (hence the "table" or "session" reference). However, this is somewhat an injustice - Grisette is linked to the coal mining centres of Hainaut. Like the farmers, the miners too used beer as refreshment and sustenance, but their beer was lighter in alcohol and body and cleaner in taste. Our version is intended as a contemporary take on the style. Light in body and color and alcohol to enhance quenching refreshment, a percentage of unmalted wheat and oats forms part of the 'malt-grist' to ensure mouthfeel and texture is retained. Delicate hints of spice and citrus fruit reflect a cooler ferment with Saison yeast, while restrained dry-hopping with Australian 'Galaxy' hops provides a perfumed hint of tropical aromatics. A beer unashamedly intended for long hot Perth summer days (and nights).....refreshing, quenching and sessionable!

Nice food friendly staff with prompt service, nice clean venue. Stopped there for lunch had the Monk burger. Have a great range of ciders, with some interesting flavour combos. Would recomend the tasting tray of ciders loved the Apple, orange and ginger cider surprisingly it has a very nice balance of flavour ended up taking some home with us. Thanks for good experience.
Great place to stop for a beverage or a bite. Went for dinner with a friend, both ordered a tasting paddle and both ordered fish. My friend had the Barramundi and I had the fish and chips with kale coleslaw. She was constantly raving about the quality of her meal and I had no reason to complain about mine, the coleslaw was fantastic and the fish was superb. The tasting paddle is a must have so you are more informed on your next visit!
Would have been a five but a little pricey. Food was excellent though. The fish & chips particularly nice (both the grilled and battered great). Good choice of ciders and cocktails not just beer. Good kids menu around $10 a plate & free colouring. Good atmosphere and decor. It it had a sandpit or play area for the kids I would definately choose Monk over Little Creatures. Pleasently surprised!
Visited twice in a fortnight. Loved it both times! First time we went in a group and shared a whole bunch of dishes. Hard to pick a favourite because every dish was amazing but the tackle box with white bait, the Krishna plate and lamb rump would make the shortlist. Second time we went I had the Crab fettucini (something I often can't look past on a menu but was sceptical with it not being an Italian restaurant) It was beautiful! My wife had the fish tacos and absolutely loved them. Also enjoyed a couple of pints of the "common" ale. Will find it hard to walk by with out stopping in for a feed in the future
