China Lane is a stylish yet relaxed dining experience in a funky inner city lane way. The shared menu is driven by Head Chef, Ben Haywood who is blessed with a remarkable history of experience. Time spent with Raymond Blanc (Petit Blanc & Manoir), Nico Ladenis (Chez Nico) & Heston Blumenthal (Fat Duck), combined with recent years engaged in Asian fare, have inspired a fresh approach to a well known style of cuisine in Sydney. Not surprisingly there will be few twists thrown in the mix. The wine list is compact and accessible with 88 lucky labels tailored towards wines which are versatile with Asian flavours and our cocktail list is fun and fresh with weekly specials to delight the palate.

We booked last minute online for seven adults. We were seated inside with plenty of room at our table. We ordered the medium priced banquet and the waitress was very helpful in answering questions and also asked the Chef if we could tweak the menu which was happily accommodated. The food was fresh, delicious and varied, it was delivered to our table in a steady flow.
Within the ivy club complex in a lane way, gets really busy on Friday night. Good for intimate dinner, office get together or just general catch up. Modern Asian fusion but retaining good Asian flavours. Good size portion but high price tags too. Overall, good vibes
